FAQ - All The Things You Oughta Know...
What is DTF printing?
Direct-to-film (aka DTF transfers) is a revolutionary technology that utilizes a special ink to print on PET film sheets (polyethylene terephthalate) or rolls. Full color ink is printed on the film with a white layer of ink on the back of each transfer, coated with a special powder adhesive and finalized by curing. Your DTF Transfer is now complete and you can transfer it to a t-shirt, hoodie, etc... made of cotton, polyester, or a blend,
What materials can be used with DTF printing?
DTF printing can be used on a wide range of materials including 100% cotton, 100% polyester, blends, leather, and more.
Can I use my home iron to apply the transfer?
Yes, you can! A heat press is obviously quicker and easier (and we sell a really great quality crafters press here!). But you can use your home iron. All the instructions for both methods can be found here.
What is DTF gang sheet printing?
DTF gang sheet printing involves arranging multiple designs onto a single sheet for more efficient printing, reducing waste and maximizing productivity.
How long does it take to complete a DTF printing order?
The time required for completing a DTF printing order depends on various factors such as the complexity of the design, the size of the order, and current production schedules. We strive to fulfill orders promptly while maintaining quality standards.
Is there a minimum order quantity for DTF printing services?
We accommodate orders of all sizes, from small batches to large-scale productions. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
What file formats do you accept for printing?
We accept various file formats including JPEG, PNG, and PDF. The important thing is that images are submitted in 300 dpi for crisp prints.
What do I need to know about sizing my designs?
We print your artwork at the exact size of the file uploaded. What you send us is what we print! For example, if you select a 9" x 13" sheet size and upload a graphic that's 6" x 8", we will print your graphic at 6" x 8". If your artwork is oversized, our staff will recommend opting for a larger sheet size than the one selected, and you will need to pay the difference. So pay close attention to sizing!
What is CMYK and why is it important?
CMYK (Cyan | Magenta | Yellow | Black) are colors of ink mixed together to create your full-color image. CMYK colors are always used in printing. When printing full-color images, make sure to have the color mode set to CMYK to depict the most accurate color value for your design.
I don't want to think about all this. Can I just send you my design and have you do it?
Of course—but you know there's going to be an extra charge! ;) You can email what you want to dtftransfers@allaboutblanks.com and we will discuss the scope of your project. Most custom set-up jobs are an additional $25 to the total job cost. Contact us for a quote.
What if I need help?

Do you offer a guarantee on the quality of your prints?
We take pride in delivering high-quality prints that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. If you encounter any issues with your order, please don't hesitate to contact us, and we will work to resolve the issue. However, it's important to note that what you send us is what we print. It's your responsibility to make sure that what you are uploading is just as you want it printed. Refunds are generally not issued on custom orders/prints.
